What Nail to Nail
So, this quarter, I’m taking this cool class taught by Prof. Sindy Tang on Optofluidics. I’m excited to be in the course as it is a grad student oriented course – that means no exams. You discuss papers, critique them and do a final project on something that interests you.
In the first lecture, Sindy used this phrase, ‘.. choosing what nail to nail..’ in the context of choosing research problems etc. and she went on to describe how sometimes you have the hammer and you find the nails, or in other cases, you find a nail and you have to design an appropriate hammer.
At that point, she shared a couple of websites which I thought were pretty cool and which I should have known earlier.
I’m sure there is more out there that I’m unaware of. Plus at this point of time, glancing at the solicitations for proposals seems very daunting and confusing.
I’m sure there is a good tutorial out there on this.
Btw, race was pretty tough. I finished it though. Yay!
