Testing a new way of writing scientific reports
I had to submit an abstract today for a class.
From what I learned from my previous blogpost, about writing clearly, I am implementing it for this report. As you can see, I’ve kept the message brief and to the point. I haven’t shared many details yet, but I hope to write the entire report in a similar fashion.
This is a big deal for me. I’ve always associated writing scientific reports with using all kinds of jargon. And making them as complicated as possible. I assumed that the longer the statements, the more intellectual I was coming across.
But it doesn’t make sense to me now. If I can be lucid and clear in my explanation, then doesn’t I don’t think anyone will care in what style the document is written.
Plus, there are scientific articles that I’ve written, that I wouldn’t read myself ever.
But this one.. Oh yeah. I’m excited.
That’s the goal for this article. Write it for myself. And ask myself at every step – Would I read this document myself?
And so far, Hell yeah, I’d read it.
